The story of ILOVEACEITE begins in 1950, when Francisco Ortega, the grandfather of founder Fernando Ortega, started working in the olive oil business in southern Spain. For over sixty years, the Ortega family has dedicated itself to producing 100 percent authentic extra virgin Spanish olive oil, preserving the values of quality, tradition, and respect for the land. In 2009, third-generation producer and attorney Fernando Ortega transformed that heritage into a brand: ILOVEACEITE. Founded in Jaén, in the heart of Andalusia—the world’s largest olive oil–producing region—the company was created to promote, distribute, and educate people about extra virgin olive oil and Mediterranean culture. From the start, ILOVEACEITE worked closely with farmers and producers to ensure traceability, authenticity, and the preservation of traditional methods, while also becoming one of the first Spanish companies to embrace digital platforms and social media for global promotion..
ILOVEACEITE US
As the brand grew, a new chapter began in 2016 with the creation of ILOVEACEITE US in San Antonio, Texas. Building the business from scratch in a competitive market, Ortega introduced American audiences to authentic extra virgin olive oil and Mediterranean gastronomy through direct sales, events, and culinary experiences. The company soon became a cultural bridge, participating in food festivals and community initiatives that celebrated Spanish flavors. In 2023, ILOVEACEITE US earned recognition by winning the Paella Challenge Texas in the “Classic Paella” category, strengthening its reputation as an ambassador of Mediterranean culture.
