A 25% tariff hike has been announced by the U.S. Trade Representative on over 150 items imported from the European Union countries as well as a 10% hike for new aircraft from France, Germany, Spain and the U.K.
These additional tariffs are a result of a determination by the USTR that U.S. rights under a trade agreement are being denied and that subsidies provided by the EU and certain member States violate provisions of this agreement.
Bottled Extra virgin olive oil from Spain will be additional charged with 25%.
The additional duties set out iare applicable with respect to products that
are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on October 18, 2019.
